Barrie cashmere: 1930s and 40s design

Lazlo Maholy Nagy, Hungarian artist / designer.

Works by Czech graphic designer Ladislav Sutnar who mainly specialised in information graphics and who's work i have always been admired. His design philosophy 'a designer must think first, design later' has always been at the back of my mind when i approach a design problem. Here are a few examples of his layouts which i feel have a real dynamic feel to them and the simple primary colours used (here mainly red) to highlight the most basic shapes is bold but really works.
